Spirit Week
Spirit week is scheduled
for November 16-20, 2009. This is a time
for our students to get a little wacky.
Below you will find our schedule for the week. Please adhere to our out-of-uniform policy especially
with regard to modesty.
Monday - Pajama
Day
Just
roll out of bed in your finest curlers, fuzzy slippers and big fluffy robes.
Tuesday - Hillbilly
Day
Dress
like you are from the back hills, just don’t smell like it.
Wednesday - Wacky/Tacky Day
Leave your
sense of style and coordination at home.
Thursday - Decade Day
Outfit
yourself in celebration of your favorite decade.
Friday - Sport
Team Day
Come dressed in your favorite team garb and colors.
Thanksgiving
Break
School will be dismissed at noon on Tuesday,
November 24, 2009, and will resume on Tuesday, December 1, 2009, for
Thanksgiving. Our hope is that this will
give you an opportunity to enjoy time with your family and friends, and reflect
on God’s abundant blessings and provision for you and your family.
Sweat
Shirt (Hoodies) and Sweat pants
The sweat shirts and pants have been ordered. We
will notify you when we receive them.
Ski Trip
If
you are interested in going on the ski trip this year then you will need to
have your $20.00 deposit in to the office by Friday, November 20,
2009, in order to hold your place.
The remainder ($73.00) will be due when we return from Christmas break,
Tuesday, January 5, 2010. Please
remember that once the deposit is paid, Cataloochee will not issue
refunds.
Please
make sure you make your reservations at the hotel as soon as possible if you
want to be near our group. Also, school
will be closed Wednesday through Friday, January 6-8, 2010, for the school ski
trip. No classes will be held for those not attending.
For
families new to our school, staff, students and their families, the ski trip is
a time to get together outside of the school setting. Each child will need to have a parent or
guardian with them while on the trip. The school will not be providing
chaperones. This person will have to sign the rental agreement and liability
forms. For additional information, you

Ski Area
The cost for skiing will be $93.00 again this
year. This will cover the ski rental, a
group t-shirt, and lift ticket for all day Thursday and Friday. If you would like to rent a snow board
instead, the cost for the two day rental is $133.00 plus a $60.00 deposit. A
$20.00 non-refundable deposit is due on Friday, November 20, 2009. Once the final amount is paid, the ski area will
not issue any refunds.
Hotel
We have blocked 20 rooms at the Best Western Mountain
Brook Inn in Maggie Valley. This hotel
is next door to the Microtel Inn where we stayed last year. The rooms have been recently remodeled and
are larger than last year’s rooms.
Rates for January 6th through 8th will be $46.74 plus 12%
tax per night. Friday night will be
slightly higher. The deadline for
securing the room is December 6, 2009.
Cancellation policy is one month before you arrive. You will need to reserve the room with a
credit card or send a deposit one month before you arrive or your room will be

first come first served basis.
