Picture Day
Picture day will be
Wednesday, October 28, 2009. Students
are allowed to come out of uniform.
Please observe our out-of uniform policies in respect to modesty.
Early
Dismissal
School will be dismissed at noon on Friday, October
23, 2009. The teachers will be available for conference if needed. Please give the office a call to set up a
meeting.
Fall
Cookout
This year’s fall cookout will be Friday, October
23, 2009, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
The school will provide the hamburgers, buns,
drinks, and condiments. We ask that our
parents bring side dishes, and /or dessert.
This is primarily a time for our families to get
together and fellowship. Please do
not drop your children off as we are unable to provide supervision.
Sweat
Shirt (Hoodies) and Sweat pants
If you would like to place an order, please fill
out the attached order form and send a payment of $20.00 for the sweatshirt
and $17.00 for the sweat pants to the school office by Monday, October
19, 2009.
Ski Trip
Start
planning today to be a part of our annual ski trip to Cataloochee Ski Area this
winter. The dates are Wednesday, January 6 through Friday, January 8,
2010. Please fill out the attached
interest form to help us plan.
For
new families, the ski trip is a time for our families to get together. Each child will need to have someone
responsible for them while on the trip. The school will not be providing
chaperones. This person will have to sign the rental agreement and liability
forms. You can visit the ski area’s
website at www.cataloochee.com.
Ski Area
The cost for skiing will be $93.00 again this
year. This will cover the ski rental, a
group t-shirt, and lift ticket for all day Thursday and Friday. If you would like to rent a snow board
instead, the cost for the two day rental is $133.00 plus a $60.00 deposit. A
$20.00 non-refundable deposit will be due shortly. Also, once the final amount is due and
submitted, the ski area will not issue us any refunds.
Hotel
We have blocked 20 rooms at the Best Western Mountain
Brook Inn in Maggie Valley. This hotel
is next door to the Microtel Inn that we stayed last year. The rooms have been recently remodeled and
are larger than last year’s.
Rates for January 6 through 8th will be $46.74 plus 12% tax per
night. Friday night will be slightly
higher. The deadline for securing the
room is December 6, 2009. Cancellation
policy is one month before you arrive. You
will need to reserve the room with a credit card or send a deposit one month
before you arrive or you room will be released. For more information about the

Rooms are on a first come first served basis.
